Join the SPS / Quagga CPO network
More than a job. A professional community.
At the Quagga Group, we believe our people are our most valuable capability. SPS is building a community of protection specialists who share a commitment to professionalism, continuous development and operational excellence.
Belonging
When you join the Quagga Group, you join a family.
Whether you are looking for permanent employment, temporary assignments, specialist deployments or future opportunities, registering with SPS lets us understand your capabilities and consider you for work that matches your experience and skill set.
We take good close protection officers and operators and work with them to become exceptional professionals. That means developing more than technical skill: it means building the physical capability, discipline, judgement, communication and professional standards needed to perform when it matters.
What we believe in
The standard we hold ourselves to.
Awareness
Observing properly, listening properly and noticing what others miss.
Physical capability
Being prepared for the demands of the task, every time.
Professional competence
Knowing exactly what a situation requires, and delivering exactly that. Near enough is not good enough.
Continuous development
Never assuming that what you know today is enough for tomorrow.
Accountability
Our word is our commitment. What we say, we do.
Attention to detail
Checking rather than taking for granted, and planning ahead so that nothing important is left to chance.
Service before self
The day belongs to the principal, never to the protector.
Teamwork
Supporting the person beside you. Operational strength comes from the team.
Respect for every person
Treating everyone with dignity, whatever their background or circumstances.
Excellence without ego
Always improving, without losing sight of the people we protect and the people we work alongside.
Growth
We do not expect perfection.
We expect people to be honest about where they are, to take responsibility where they have fallen short, and to be willing to improve.
A mistake is something to learn from, not something that defines you. Carry the lesson forward and let it make you better.
People protecting people.
In service of something greater than ourselves.

Register your details first, then return to upload documents, qualifications and supporting information as your profile develops.
Your profile may be considered for:
Registration does not guarantee employment or deployment. Candidates are assessed against the requirements of each position or task, including experience, qualifications, regulatory compliance, medical capability, fitness, driving capability, firearms competency and operational suitability.
Every candidate
- Is vetted, with qualifications and registrations verified independently of what is claimed
- Holds PSIRA registration appropriate to the grade and role
- Holds SAPS firearm competency where a role is armed
- Has driving competency verified where a role requires it
- Completes a medical and fitness assessment where the deployment calls for it
- Completes SPS onboarding and operational standards before any deployment
SPS welcomes candidates with military, law-enforcement and specialist close-protection backgrounds. Civilian candidates who meet the same standards are considered on the same terms, and female close protection officers are actively welcomed.
